Deir ez-Zor Airport serves the eastern region of Syria and the Euphrates valley and is the air gateway to the eastern governorates. It lies about 10 km south-east of Deir ez-Zor city centre, at an elevation of 213 metres, and has a single 3,000-metre runway. After fourteen years of closure, the airport was rehabilitated and reopened to civil traffic in August 2026, and it now handles domestic flights to Damascus as well as scheduled international services.
